Direct-to-DAW recordings can sound cold and lifeless due to the lack of multi-stage saturation that a recording console provides. Louder Than Liftoff’s SILVER BULLET mk2 plugin applies a combination of sweetening effects, allowing you to shape the tone of individual tracks, instrument busses, and stereo mixdowns. Open your mixes to a new level of character, normally only found in studios with massive analog recording consoles and mountains of outboard gear.

Saturate your tracks with three MOJO amps

SILVER BULLET mk2 allows you to color your sound using MOJO amp A (American), MOJO amp N (British), and MOJO amp C. Turning up the drive on MOJO amp A and N will add subtle to extreme saturation, with each MOJO amp providing a unique flavor. MOJO amp C allows you to insert Colour modules into the signal path.

Choose from five different Colour module effects

Colour is a modular platform for creating custom analog signal chains. These compact, swappable analog circuit blocks snap into the hardware version of SILVER BULLET mk2. The SILVER BULLET plugin includes the Hitmaker 4000 module from the original hardware, plus new Colour modules from Unfiltered Audio that are exclusive to the plugin:

• Hitmaker 4000: 1980s VCA console saturation.
• Bitmaker 1200: A 12-bit, sample-rate reduced version of Hitmaker 4000. It includes brick wall input filtering and aliasing artifacts inspired by a legendary late-’80s drum sampler.
• Vinyl Saturation: Produces warm vinyl saturation based on Unfiltered Audio’s Needlepoint plugin.
• Helical Scan: Features VHS tape-inspired warble algorithms based on Unfiltered Audio’s LO-FI-AF plugin.
• VHS AF: A serial combination of the Vinyl Saturation and Helical Scan warble algorithms.

Experience a new era of analog-modeled circuits with DYNA REALISM™

The DYNA REALISM™ feature built into SILVER BULLET mk2 emulates all the hardware unit’s variations, idiosyncrasies, and imperfections. Under the hood, DYNA REALISM™ uses a Virtual Parts Bin and Serial Number system to construct unique static and dynamic models of analog circuits. This technology breathes life into hardware emulations, making digital circuits feel alive. Adjusting SILVER BULLET mk2’s DYNA REALISM™ knob unveils increasingly intense variations between the left and right channels and within them.

A sound that’s unique to your serial number

In the analog world, every piece of hardware will sound slightly different due to tolerance variances and factors like age. When you load SILVER BULLET mk2 onto a track, the plugin implements a unique built-to-order version of the digital model associated with your particular license. The DYNA REALISM™ modes sound different based on the serial number used, and you can specify any six-digit serial number you like.

Musically shape the tone of your mix using a Baxandall EQ

SILVER BULLET mk2 includes a three-band Baxandall EQ with a Pultec-inspired low end. The top end is extremely smooth due to the shape of the filter, which affects a broad range of frequencies. There’s also an AIR circuit with a dedicated control that you can use to make the top end of your 2-buss shine.

Clean up low-end mud and tame top-end harshness

Remove mud from the low end of your mixes using the TIGHT filter. The slightly resonant and tape-like 25 Hz setting often sounds best when applied to your stereo buss, while the 50 Hz filter is optimized for tracking individual instruments. Use the VINTAGE button to emulate a vintage British console and soften high-frequency content.

Apply natural stereo image enhancement

The ASPECT RATIO button musically enhances your mix’s stereo width, height, and clarity, providing subtle and controlled image enhancement. Unlike other widening effects that can damage your soundstage and unbalance your mix, the ASPECT RATIO circuit was created to sound lush and full, specifically when applied to your stereo buss. It’s controlled with an on/off switch, delivering beautiful stereo image enhancement without the fussy guesswork.

Create distorted and broken textures

SILVER BULLET mk2 offers two distinct circuit bending options: BEND 1 and BEND 2. Each option shorts out the power rails at different points of the signal chain to create distorted and broken textures. The A, N, and C MOJO amp each exhibit unique behaviors based on the CIRCUIT BEND setting that you’ve selected.
