FRAGMENTS – MODERN PERCUSSION is a percussion instrument built from sounds that aren’t typically found in your standard percussion library. Each sound was recorded in twelve round robins and up to five velocity layers, with an FX and randomization engine that gives the feeling of a truly human touch (literally, since we even used parts of the human body!).

INTRICATE RHYTHMS MADE EASY

Each beat generator features a sequencer with two randomization features: one lays out the initial pattern and the other shakes it up with every turn. It also includes control over our Density feature that fills out the sound and adds hits of varying velocities to every silent step.

LAYERS UPON LAYERS

Each layer of the engine functions off its own five layers that you can turn on and off, or customize the sound further by allowing the engine to randomly select sounds and panning position.

Each of the three layers has their own independent design options that allow you to craft your own sounds and rhythms quickly and easily with FRAGMENTS – MODERN PERCUSSION.

A MATERIAL ADVANTAGE

The Bass and Snare slots feature 3 organic sounds each recorded with 12 round robins, while the Fragments slot contains 17 sounds. Sounds can be selected by their source: Wood, Metal, Mechanical, Body, or a sound you drag-and-drop into the User section. Control which sounds are sourced, the panning, or make it all random.

A DASH OF THE SECRET SAUCE

The hidden secret of the sequencer is the Density option, which fills in the gaps at random velocities. This can be tied to the modwheel, allowing you to easily switch between minimal and complex rhythms.

INCREASE THE CONTROL

Determine how to control the Tone and Density options on your MIDI keyboard. Set the minimum and maximum for each to tighten the design function.

Some people like to have their own recorded sounds in their productions. We make it easy to blend in your personal touch with the complicated rhythms of FRAGMENTS – MODERN PERCUSSION. Simply drag-and-drop your sound to the icon and add it in on the Main Screen.

All the sounds were recorded with 12 round robins, ensuring a complete human feel to the sound. Depending on the source, they have up to 5 velocity layers using an array of high-quality mics and were painstakingly recorded in our sound engineer’s own at-home pillow fortress of solitude.
