In Search of the Perfect Vibe

We worked closely with acclaimed engineer Luca Pretolesi in order to revamp the original design of this renowned processor, which is a favorite of electronic music producers all over the world. Our updated version includes new features, such as an additional HMF band with selectable frequencies, a “focus” control (for precision mastering duties), a left/right and mid/side selector, as well as a complete “cut filter” section.

In Pretolesi’s words: “The Color EQ fills the gaps between frequencies.”

Luca Pretolesi: The Hit-Making Soundsmith

Luca Pretolesi has logged over 20,000 hours in the studio honing his skills. Mixing and mastering are an art form at the world-class Studio DMI in Las Vegas, and each session is carefully executed in order to create the best sound possible while preserving the artist’s original vision.

Pretolesi pushes the boundaries of expectations by taking his mixes to the next level; in adding the finishing touches to a song, he does so in a way that is uniquely his, thanks to his superb ear and decades of experience.

As an engineer, he has worked with Diplo, Major Lazer, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, DVBBS, Snoop Lion, Gareth Emery, Dada Life, Lil Jon, MakJ, E.A.S.Y., Morgan Page, Dillon Francis, KSHMR, TJR, and many other chart-topping artists.

We can see users are really frustrated by seeing the “fact” and complaining to developer in some forums / SNSs. Funny thing is, many are asking iLok as a new protection. R2R users know that it’s another bloating protection.

Current Acustica DLL is about 4MB. WrapWarden (iLok wrapper) adds 10MB. If dev wants more, they put MetaFortress, which adds another 10MB. The estimated DLL size is about 25MB after protecting by the iLok. If there were 8 DLL in 1 product, WrapWarden + MetaFortress adds (10MB + 10MB) * 8DLL in the end. Need VST3 and AAX? It must be further multiplied by 3. Another big bloat for sure.
