Episodes; here to help your creativity

‘Episodes’ is our new feature created for Alt Choir. The Sopranos, Altos and Tenors each have their own harmonic part that work together in both key and tempo. A sound that flows around your the music you’ve made. Like our famed Improvisations, but on a whole new level.

Recorded in all 12 keys, both major and minor, all with different vowel sounds and dynamics. This feels like the vocalists and improvising around the music you’re playing.

Breathtaking legato

Each of the four sections has two absolutely stunning legato articulations. Elegant and natural performances that flow like water. Both powerful and beautiful. The standard legato has a sustained and more stable sound. The Improvised legato carries a natural performance where all the vocalists are adding their own small moments of vibrato and dynamics.

A blend of the classical and contemporary

From across the UK, we curated a chamber-sized choir of 16 vocalists arranged in 4 sections. With influences ranging from folk, pop and indie as well as more classically tuned voices. Whilst you can hear individual personalities in each of the sections, the sound is perfectly blended across the whole choir.

Arranged in the perfect semi-circle for this size of ensemble, we recorded everyone in situ for a balanced stereo image. Each of the sections was recorded in isolation, so you have complete control over the whole choir.

A synth made from voices

Included in the library is a whole instrument of synth-like sounds. We took the mountains of source recordings from the original sessions to create these 12 unique sounds. They all still have the soul we captured in the studio, but have been transformed into something completely different. Wrapped up in a custom interface so you can mix them into something that’s yours.
