you catch one of Hugh Padgham\u2019s productions is strikingly high.<br that, not only did he help sonically package some truly timeless pieces of music, he also single-handedly pioneered the sound of an era.<br \/>\n\u8fd9\u662f\u4f11\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Or who the pioneering engineers behind blending acoustic and electronic drums were?<br \/>\n\u6216\u8005\u662f\u8c01\u662f\u5c06\u539f\u58f0\u9f13\u548c\u7535\u5b50\u9f13\u6df7\u5408\u5728\u4e00\u8d77\u7684\u5148\u950b\u5de5\u7a0b\u5e08?<\/p>\n<p>Hugh was definitely one of them.<br \/>\n\u4f11\u7edd\u5bf9\u662f\u5176\u4e2d\u4e4b\u4e00\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, his footprint in music history, and especially so when it comes to retooling the role of the drums in a production, couldn\u2019t be more obvious.<br \/>\n\u4e0d\u7528\u8bf4\uff0c\u4ed6\u5728\u97f3\u4e50\u53f2\u4e0a\u7684\u8db3\u8ff9\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5f53\u6d89\u53ca\u5230\u9f13\u5728\u5236\u4f5c\u4e2d\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u91cd\u7ec4\u65f6\uff0c\u518d\u660e\u663e\u4e0d\u8fc7\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n<p>In this SDX, Hugh set out to create an all-encompassing source of acoustic and electronic drums inspired by not only the \u201980s and \u201990s eras, but also one designed to reflect some of the most known drummers and album mileposts in his body of work.<br \/>\n\u5728\u8fd9\u6b21SDX\u4e2d\uff0cHugh\u5f00\u59cb\u521b\u9020\u4e00\u4e2a\u65e0\u6240\u4e0d\u5305\u7684\u539f\u58f0\u548c\u7535\u5b50\u9f13\u7684\u6765\u6e90\uff0c\u4e0d\u4ec5\u53d7\u523080\u5e74\u4ee3\u548c90\u5e74\u4ee3\u7684\u542f\u53d1\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u8fd8\u65e8\u5728\u53cd\u6620\u4e00\u4e9b\u6700\u77e5\u540d\u7684\u9f13\u624b\u548c\u4e13\u8f91\u91cc\u7a0b\u7891\u5728\u4ed6\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\u4e2d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>All in all, six unique acoustic kits were sourced as well as a massive collection of classic vintage hardware drum machines \u2013 all captured in the breathtaking ambience of the immaculate sonic marvel that is the British Grove Studios in London, UK.<br \/>\n\u603b\u800c\u8a00\u4e4b\uff0c\u516d\u79cd\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u58f0\u5b66\u5957\u4ef6\u4ee5\u53ca\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u7ecf\u5178\u590d\u53e4\u786c\u4ef6\u9f13\u673a\u6536\u96c6-\u6240\u6709\u8fd9\u4e9b\u90fd\u6355\u6349\u5728\u5b8c\u7f8e\u7684\u58f0\u97f3\u5947\u8ff9\u7684\u4ee4\u4eba\u60ca\u53f9\u7684\u6c1b\u56f4\u4e2d\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u82f1\u56fd\u4f26\u6566\u7684\u683c\u7f57\u592b\u5de5\u4f5c\u5ba4\u3002<\/p>\n<p>To add an ever more organic and period-correct flavor, all drums and machines were recorded to tape before converted digitally.<br \/>\n\u4e3a\u4e86\u589e\u52a0\u66f4\u52a0\u6709\u673a\u548c\u6b63\u786e\u7684\u5e74\u4ee3\u98ce\u5473\uff0c\u6240\u6709\u7684\u9f13\u548c\u673a\u5668\u90fd\u88ab\u5f55\u5236\u5230\u78c1\u5e26\u4e0a\uff0c\u7136\u540e\u518d\u8fdb\u884c\u6570\u5b57\u8f6c\u6362\u3002<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, the machines were amped through a PA system in the same ambience as the acoustic drums and captured using a similar microphone setup.<br makes this collection even more unique is that both elements were recorded to tape and, on top of that, each electronic sound re-amped through a PA system and captured with several ambience microphones in the same room as the drums.<br in fact, was one of the tricks Hugh frequently employed back in the day to give the sometimes lifeless machines a needed boost of power, punch, grit and energy.<br electronic portion of the SDX was based on eleven of the most era-defining and now sought-after hardware drum machines of the 1980s: Roland*\u2019s TR series, Simmons*, Oberheim*, Linn* and more.<br at Advision Studios in London, UK, working on albums by the likes of Mott the Hoople, Gentle Giant and many more.<br
