piano is a form of prepared piano most commonly seen on acoustic uprights where, as in this example, each of the hammers has had a brass tack or metal device installed on or between the mallets and the resonators.<br \/>\n\u201c\u5927\u5934\u9489\u201d\u94a2\u7434\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u9884\u5148\u51c6\u5907\u597d\u7684\u94a2\u7434\uff0c\u6700\u5e38\u89c1\u7684\u662f\u5728\u58f0\u5b66\u7acb\u67f1\u4e0a\uff0c\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4f8b\u5b50\u4e2d\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u7434\u9524\u90fd\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u9ec4\u94dc\u5927\u5934\u9489\u6216\u91d1\u5c5e\u88c5\u7f6e\u5b89\u88c5\u5728\u69cc\u5b50\u548c\u8c10\u632f\u5668\u4e0a\u6216\u4e4b\u95f4\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The sound is most definitely still piano but the initial attack phase is accentuated, it&#8217;s more present, with a resonant metallic brilliance.<br \/>\n\u58f0\u97f3\u7edd\u5bf9\u8fd8\u662f\u94a2\u7434\u7684\uff0c\u4f46\u6700\u521d\u7684\u653b\u51fb\u9636\u6bb5\u88ab\u5f3a\u8c03\u4e86\uff0c\u5b83\u66f4\u6709\u73b0\u573a\u611f\uff0c\u5e26\u6709\u4e00\u79cd\u5171\u632f\u7684\u91d1\u5c5e\u5149\u8f89\u3002<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out this preparation is quite exceptional on electric piano.<br \/>\n\u4e8b\u5b9e\u8bc1\u660e\uff0c\u8fd9\u79cd\u51c6\u5907\u5728\u7535\u5b50\u94a2\u7434\u4e0a\u662f\u975e\u5e38\u7279\u522b\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The tonal character is almost bell-like in quality, giving a completely new perspective and life to the classic electric piano sound.<br \/>\n\u97f3\u8d28\u4e0a\u7684\u97f3\u8272\u51e0\u4e4e\u50cf\u949f\u4e00\u6837\uff0c\u7ed9\u7ecf\u5178\u7684\u7535\u94a2\u7434\u58f0\u97f3\u5e26\u6765\u4e86\u5168\u65b0\u7684\u89c6\u89d2\u548c\u751f\u547d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>APPROACH<br \/>\n\u65b9\u6cd5<\/p>\n<p>Origins<br \/>\n\u8d77\u6e90<\/p>\n<p>Attack EP88 begins with a perfectly restored 88-key Rhodes Mark I prepared with a brass tack on the striking surface of each hammer.<br \/>\n\u653b\u51fbEP88\u5f00\u59cb\u4e8e\u4e00\u4e2a\u5b8c\u7f8e\u4fee\u590d\u768488\u94a5\u5319\u7f57\u5179\u9a6c\u514b\u6211\u51c6\u5907\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u9ec4\u94dc\u9489\u5728\u6bcf\u4e2a\u9524\u7684\u6253\u51fb\u8868\u9762\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the project was to essentially deliver an entire virtual studio built around this instrument, allowing users to customize and explore it when and how they want.<br \/>\n\u8fd9\u4e2a\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u76ee\u6807\u662f\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4eea\u5668\u5468\u56f4\u5efa\u7acb\u4e00\u4e2a\u5b8c\u6574\u7684\u865a\u62df\u5de5\u4f5c\u5ba4\uff0c\u5141\u8bb8\u7528\u6237\u5b9a\u5236\u548c\u63a2\u7d22\u4ed6\u4eec\u60f3\u8981\u7684\u65f6\u95f4\u548c\u65b9\u5f0f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Doing this properly requires a number of sound sources and quite extensive recordings of each.<br \/>\n\u8981\u505a\u5230\u8fd9\u4e00\u70b9\u9700\u8981\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u58f0\u6e90\u548c\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u5f55\u97f3\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Throughout, the utmost attention to quality and detail was made for everything from equipment selection to final editing, from UI and preset design to assembly.<br \/>\n\u5728\u6574\u4e2a\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u4ece\u8bbe\u5907\u9009\u62e9\u5230\u6700\u7ec8\u7f16\u8f91\uff0c\u4eceUI\u548c\u9884\u8bbe\u8bbe\u8ba1\u5230\u88c5\u914d\uff0c\u90fd\u9ad8\u5ea6\u5173\u6ce8\u8d28\u91cf\u548c\u7ec6\u8282\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Immaculate Detail<br \/>\n\u5b8c\u7f8e\u7684\u7ec6\u8282<\/p>\n<p>For the acoustic signals we employed a stereo pair of Bruel and Kjaer mics, a Neumann U67 in the mono position and per-key recordings with a contact mic attached directly to the tine.<br \/>\n\u5bf9\u4e8e\u58f0\u5b66\u4fe1\u53f7\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u4f7f\u7528\u4e86\u4e00\u5bf9\u7acb\u4f53\u58f0\u7684Bruel\u548cKjaer\u9ea6\u514b\u98ce\uff0c\u5355\u58f0\u9053\u4f4d\u7f6e\u7684Neumann U67\u548c\u76f4\u63a5\u8fde\u63a5\u5728\u9f7f\u4e0a\u7684\u63a5\u89e6\u9ea6\u514b\u98ce\u6bcf\u952e\u5f55\u97f3\u3002<\/p>\n<p>For each note 8 velocities and up to 5 round-robins were recorded per-source, along with 5 round-robins for both the sustain and release samples.<br \/>\n\u5bf9\u4e8e\u6bcf\u4e2a\u6ce8\u91ca\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u6e90\u8bb0\u5f558\u4e2a\u901f\u5ea6\u548c\u591a\u8fbe5\u4e2a\u5faa\u73af\u5faa\u73af\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u7ef4\u6301\u548c\u91ca\u653e\u6837\u54c1\u76845\u4e2a\u5faa\u73af\u5faa\u73af\u3002<\/p>\n<p>This was done 3 times for the electric sources, once for each of the 3 included voicings (where the tack position is shifted on the hammer, resulting in changes of color from deep to thin).<br \/>\n\u5bf9\u7535\u6e90\u8fdb\u884c\u4e863\u6b21\u6d4b\u8bd5\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e00\u6b21\u90fd\u5305\u542b\u58f0\u97f3(\u9524\u5b50\u4e0a\u7684\u9489\u5934\u4f4d\u7f6e\u88ab\u6539\u53d8\uff0c\u5bfc\u81f4\u989c\u8272\u4ece\u6df1\u53d8\u8584)\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Additional recordings were made to capture the pedal-up and pedal-down sounds, this was done for the mono, stereo, contact and DI signals with 7 round-robins for each.<br \/>\n\u53e6\u5916\u8fd8\u5f55\u5236\u4e86\u8e0f\u677f\u5411\u4e0a\u548c\u5411\u4e0b\u7684\u58f0\u97f3\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u4e3a\u5355\u58f0\u9053\u3001\u7acb\u4f53\u58f0\u3001\u63a5\u89e6\u548cDI\u4fe1\u53f7\u505a\u7684\uff0c\u6bcf7\u4e2a\u5faa\u73af\u77e5\u66f4\u9e1f\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The result of this process was a working base of over 47,000 samples, a truly massive library that beautifully captured even the most subtle nuances of the piano.<br \/>\n\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8fc7\u7a0b\u7684\u7ed3\u679c\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u8d85\u8fc747000\u4e2a\u6837\u672c\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u57fa\u5730\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u771f\u6b63\u5de8\u5927\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\uff0c\u7f8e\u4e3d\u5730\u6355\u6349\u5230\u94a2\u7434\u6700\u5fae\u5999\u7684\u7ec6\u5fae\u5dee\u522b\u3002<\/p>\n<p>INSTRUMENT<br \/>\n\u4eea\u5668<\/p>\n<p>The next task was to distill this enormous sample complexity into a focused and easy-to-use instrument.<br \/>\n\u4e0b\u4e00\u4e2a\u4efb\u52a1\u662f\u5c06\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5e9e\u5927\u7684\u590d\u6742\u6837\u672c\u63d0\u53d6\u6210\u4e00\u4e2a\u6709\u91cd\u70b9\u4e14\u6613\u4e8e\u4f7f\u7528\u7684\u5de5\u5177\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Attack EP88&#8217;s audio sources are routed internally via three busses, one for the contact mic, one for mono and stereo mics, and one for the DI and tube channels.<br \/>\n\u653b\u51fbEP88\u7684\u58f0\u6e90\u901a\u8fc7\u4e09\u4e2a\u603b\u7ebf\u5728\u5185\u90e8\u8def\u7531\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u7528\u4e8e\u63a5\u89e6\u9ea6\u514b\u98ce\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u7528\u4e8e\u5355\u58f0\u9053\u548c\u7acb\u4f53\u58f0\u9ea6\u514b\u98ce\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u7528\u4e8eDI\u548c\u7ba1\u901a\u9053\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Each bus is equipped with a number of useful mixing tools including envelopes and effects, making it easy to dial in particular sounds or explore new ones.<br \/>\n\u6bcf\u8f86\u5df4\u58eb\u90fd\u914d\u5907\u4e86\u4e00\u4e9b\u6709\u7528\u7684\u6df7\u5408\u5de5\u5177\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u4fe1\u5c01\u548c\u6548\u679c\uff0c\u4f7f\u5b83\u5bb9\u6613\u62e8\u53f7\u7279\u5b9a\u7684\u58f0\u97f3\u6216\u63a2\u7d22\u65b0\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The user interface was carefully designed to make editing these signals as simple as possible, with acoustic sources at the top of the UI and electric at the bottom.<br \/>\n\u7528\u6237\u754c\u9762\u7ecf\u8fc7\u7cbe\u5fc3\u8bbe\u8ba1\uff0c\u4f7f\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4fe1\u53f7\u7684\u7f16\u8f91\u5c3d\u53ef\u80fd\u7b80\u5355\uff0c\u58f0\u6e90\u4f4d\u4e8eUI\u9876\u90e8\uff0c\u7535\u6e90\u4f4d\u4e8eUI\u5e95\u90e8\u3002<\/p>\n<p>The acoustic busses are equipped with a 3-band EQ, Dual Delay and Sparkverb, and the electric bus with distortion, the 8-voice Thorus, phaser, Dual Delay and Sparkverb.<br \/>\n\u58f0\u5b66\u5df4\u58eb\u914d\u5907\u4e863\u6ce2\u6bb5\u5747\u8861\u5668\u3001\u53cc\u5ef6\u8fdf\u548cSparkverb\uff0c\u800c\u7535\u52a8\u5df4\u58eb\u5219\u914d\u5907\u4e868\u58f0Thorus\u3001\u76f8\u4f4d\u5668\u3001\u53cc\u5ef6\u8fdf\u548cSparkverb\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Full control of these busses is made across 3 pages, Main, FX and Settings.<br \/>\n\u8fd9\u4e9b\u603b\u7ebf\u7684\u5b8c\u5168\u63a7\u5236\u662f\u901a\u8fc73\u4e2a\u9875\u9762\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\uff0cFX\u548c\u8bbe\u7f6e\u3002<\/p>\n<p>A fourth and final page provides per-note control of voicing (each of which represents an entirely unique sample set per-source) and per-note control of tuning.<br \/>\n\u7b2c\u56db\u9875\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u6700\u540e\u4e00\u9875\uff0c\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u6bcf\u4e2a\u97f3\u7b26\u7684\u58f0\u97f3\u63a7\u5236(\u6bcf\u4e2a\u97f3\u7b26\u4ee3\u8868\u4e00\u4e2a\u5b8c\u5168\u72ec\u7279\u7684\u6837\u672c\u96c6\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u6e90)\u548c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u97f3\u7b26\u7684\u8c03\u4f18\u63a7\u5236\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Attack EP88 comes with 70 expertly designed presets which quickly display its fantastic detail and extraordinary sonic breadth.<br
